Ben's Beer Banter
Stone brewing company is incredible. I've been blown away by their quality. Although its quite expensive, each beer is well worth the inflated price. I started with their Arrogant Bastard Ale. A note on the back explains the beer's arrogance and the tag line underneath their demonic mascot says it all: "You're not worthy." I could feel the gargoyle's stare leaping off the label and down past my taste buds to my heart just to make sure I could handle this masterpiece of alcoholic goodness and yes, I am worthy. This beer is by far the angriest beer in the world and unquestionably one of the best I've ever had. Good to the last drop, no ass end (an accomplishment for a beer that almost exclusively comes in the 1pt. 6fl oz. size). I then picked up a six pack of their IPA. It's amazing. No pale ale has ever stood up to this one. Today I've chosen a treat. A smoked porter. Yes, its smoked. If smoke can do for beer what it does for meat, I am never going back. I was also debating between their 11th anniversary beer which is a dark IPA and one of their special collection called Vertical Epic. It seems that these special collection beers are only brewed for one day out of the year. This belgium style beer was created on 07.07.07. Classy. If only I'd known to be around for the 06.06.06. Each of these beers in their 1pt. 6fl oz. size weighed in a about $8 but are supposedly worth the extra cash. I was excited but in a challenge of rock, paper, scissors, these beers lost out to something even more amazing. A sixer of an oaked version of their arrogant bastard ale. $15 and worth every penny. I plan on picking up the other two next week and I will post about them later. Untill then I'm going to go indulge in the most brutally honest beer I've ever dared to drink.
